Want to get lost in the crowd for your niche online? Try ignoring SEO. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a critical piece to the niche marketing riddle.
SEO is fundamentally the process of helping Google.com and the other search engines to not only be acquainted with site, but also list and rank your site’s content. The point of this process is to make sure internet surfers see your website in the first, second or so listing, if not first couple of pages of results when performing a search related to your niche.
When you set up your niche marketing website, you need to do some keyword (words that I’m likely to type into a search engine that will guide me to you) research. You will want to first create a list of keywords that are relevant to your target market. For example, if your niche is vegetarian dinners, your keywords might include “vegan”, “vegetarian dinner”, “vegetarian dinner recipes”, “lacto-vegetarian dinner dishes”, and “vegan recipes”.
You will want to be wary not to make your list too long. You can only practically gain a great ranking form a search engine from so many keywords. With SEO, it is critical to focus. Now that being said, over time is a different story. We have one niche client that has gained over 26,000 unique visitors from over 4,000 different keywords.
Once you have a good list of keywords (let’s just say about from 5 to 10 words or phrases) you then have to include these words within your site.
For Instance, put them in the content on your site, in your site’s headings, footers, title-pages, Meta tags etc. You want to lace these keywords into your message as much as possible in a laid-back way that allows for maximum optimization but still makes sense to your prospects that are reading your website.
Take your time when deciding how to proceed in your niche market, SEO is all about strategy. You’ve got to take this serious if you want some “serious” results. You will want to put vigilant planning into your SEO efforts as they will drive traffic to your site, and ultimately, drive profits to your business.
